Long-time friends celebrate book publication at Deuce McGee's
Dr. Bill Austin and wife Karen dined with old friends at Deuce McGee's on a recent Friday night. The popular local author and retired minister of Virginia Beach Christian Church on Great Neck Road, joined his long time friend Cliff Ireland, a Deacon of the church before moving to North Carolina. Bill's legendary humor surfaced as he presented his old friend a copy of his latest book with a box of crayons attached.

Bill presented Cliff with a copy of his second book, "Keeping It Safe," and attached a box of crayons to joke with his old friend and former parishioner. Cliff was a professor at Regent University before accepting a position as Director of the small business center at Sampson College in North Carolina. Bill was pastor of a Virginia Beach Christian Church before retiring to write books and accept speaking engagements in addition to counseling part-time at Tidewater Pastoral Counseling.
